We are presenting two concrete examples of our projects, from two different industries (the chemical industry and the finance sector), to introduce some potential IT security issues, and to detail the solutions recommended by Zybex Security, the security measures taken, and their results.
NICRO AG
Customer profile
A Switzerland-based developer and manufacturer of fixing materials, special lubricants, adhesives, gasket materials, and corrosion protection substances. The company was established in 1959, and became renowned for its NICRO and THERMOCUP brand products. Nicro AG produces predominantly for the heavy industry and the public sector. The latter especially requires that the company ensure appropriate IT security.
Problems to be solved
- Obsolete infrastructure
- Applications do not support plans for expansion
- Low IT (and data) security
The IT equipment was over eight years old, and the hardware and the applications were not only obsolete but they also hindered the dynamic development of the company. A new IT infrastructure needed to be introduced, along with a new company management system, and an IT security had to be improved.

- Relocated individual IT tasks to separate servers
- Acquire new, high-capacity servers
- Created virtual servers for organised by task
- Launched digital certificate based two-way smartcard authentication
- Encrypted files on portable devices
- Set up central user database
- Introduced SSO
- Launched collaboration application
- Introduced agent-based network saves
